Brenda Fassie est une chanteuse Sud africaine, d'origine xhosa, de variétés. Son père mourut lorsqu'elle avait 2 ans, et elle commença tôt à gagner un peu d'argent en chantant pour les touristes, aidée par sa mère pianiste.
Elles est décédée à l'âge de 39 ans le 9 mai 2004,

Wild Is The Wind' is jazz singer-songwriter and pianist Nina Simone's sixth album under record company Philips. The album was made up of several recordings that were left over of recording sessions for previous Philips albums.
Disarmingly and relentlessly intimate, 'Wild Is The Wind',comprises eleven tracks that together achieve a compelling consistency in mood, performance, and production. Sympathetic arrangements, restrained piano playing, and rich, closely miked vocals mark this stellar album, which includes Simone's searing original 'Four Women'
The album was a Billboard magazine "special merit pick" on release, with the reviewer commenting: "Simone ... sets up an exceptional romantic mood that offers top listening delight".
The song 'Four Women' was released as a single, and gained attention when banned by the New York jazz focused radio station WLIB due to concern over the lyrics.
'Wild Is The Wind' was covered by David Bowie on his 1976 studio recording 'Station To Station'.
